Chippendale Spring

The leaves that were once bare are now rustling in the wind with fresh greenery.

The streets which were once less eye-catching are now sprouting with bursts of flowers.

I could feel that it was Spring, yet just when you least expect, a sudden flash of Autumn or Winter would still come by. And indeed, who’s to say they were never part of each other to begin with?

The Welcomed Sun

In another life on another sunny island, I can just imagine myself wilting under the slightest prolonged exposure to the sun’s glare, scrambling for cold drinks, air-conditioning and/or shade.

Here in this season, I am warmly welcoming the sun, soaking in whatever warmth I can get from it.

Interesting, the difference 6,302KM can make.

Autumn in Penrith

I was feeling slightly bummed about not having the time and opportunity to go up to the mountains as yet, due to the unfriendly weather and extra placement days this year. Was feeling sorry about missing the autumn colors. What a pleasant to have this beautiful sight greeted me one weekend morning, just along the road nearby!

5 minutes till I needed to run for the bus, and so I started snapping in the early morning light.

Really loving the autumn colors! And also feeling slightly sad that this is possibly my last autumn in Aussieland. All the more reason to cherish and live in the moment 🙂

On Mist, and Other Thoughts

It’s interesting to be here for a second year, to see how the seasons move in a cycle, yet do not ever repeat themselves.

The mist this year is unlike the mist last year. So is the light, clouds, sky, air, and a multitude of other things. There is familiarity within the foreign, and vice versa.

I want to live in, and love, every moment of it. From the scorching sun to the freezing winds – for this too shall pass, and I only have the present.

Lunch Outdoors

Maybe the period between winter and spring  should be called… Springter.

And it will be known as the perfect season.

When the sun is shining but it’s not too warm, when the wind is blowing but it’s not too cold, when the clouds appear leisurely and you can decide to pack your lunch, sit outside your house and enjoy your meal watching the sky go by.

Autumn in Leura

It’s only mid-April, but some trees already look more than ready for winter. Even though I sometimes feel totally chilled to the bone by the cold air (and I know it’ll only get colder), I love experiencing and living in these different seasons, a testament to nature’s wonderful ways and timing.

(I just hope I still think the same way when it’s in the middle of winter)
