In The Annex

Think “annex”, and I think of Anne Frank and her family.

True to the idea, this place was a labyrinth in its own right, with every corner and wall calling to to have its picture taken. Had a good morning with some readings here 🙂

Also tried my first Cronut here. My sweet tooth is appeased.

“Something for Jess” Cafe

I first found out about this cafe through raving reviews online.

Stepping in, I thought the lighting was dimmer than I would have liked it, and there were several houseflies too many. But everything else, I loved.

Bravery Cafe

 

A shop without a sign,

A door without any handle.

Furniture without fuss,

And seats without frills.

But the whimsical fairy lights seemed to be enough to make up for what was lacking in ambiance and design (for me, at least).

 

Then I heard stories and saw pictures of when the place existed in quieter times, and could only imagine…
