Over the one week school break, Mum and I took a short trip to Indonesia, Bali – a place that has been on my list for some time. While I loved the padi fields and scenic views, most places we went to were probably too touristy for my liking. Still it was good quality time and a good getaway experience. Here are the stories.
On our first full day in Bali, I was really looking forward to visit some of their cafes. Wish granted when our driver managed to find this place – Alchemy! Serving only vegan and RAW food. It didn’t occur to me that RAW = cold food. Hence even the pizza we ordered was cold! Thankfully the mother quite liked it (or so she said) and we enjoyed some downtime in the cheerful, chill-vibes cafe.
Garden-themed furniture store/cafe. High ceilings.
Good for rainy-day chats and catch-ups.
Along a row of old and refurbished shophouses along Amoy Street, this one stood out with a sign:
and a stairway up…
Into another world altogether…
When a day of working outside the office can also mean quality time with the sibling 🙂
Previously Envy Coffee. Miss the quote on the wall the most!
This is something I’ve been reflecting on recently, as I find myself, yet again, being easily affected by the external, by what I cannot control.
Looking at what lies within is a reminder that there are more productive and useful ways to channel all that energy fretting, worrying and ruminating.
Build those inner resources, and develop strength in equanimity.
