The keyword is Quiet.
Scenes from some weekends in July.
I’m thankful that I can be thankful, that I have things to be thankful for.
Today’s gratitude: Quality, restful weekends. Time to spend with myself, family and friends. Time to do what recharges me. When I look at pictures like these I’m reminded that I am fortunate enough to afford an evening to walk by the River, to be in the mood to enjoy the sunset and clouds and the cooler air, to admire the intricate patterns formed by the branches of trees.
I’m thankful that I am able to be thankful.

So begins the Kyoto 2017 Trip Chronicles.
Day 1 in Kyoto – we headed out early in the morning (as early as we could manage, given that we had just checked into our Airbnb at 12 midnight) to the famous Fushimi Inari shrine and found ourselves in the midst of tons of school children (on a Sunday morning!).
Apart from the famous and iconic orange tori gates which we managed to get some people-less shots of, there were other interesting sights on the way up and down Mt Inari too.
On our second (and last) morning there, we planned to wake up at 5.30AM to catch the sunrise.
So Mum’s alarm rang at 5.30AM, home time.
Which translated to 4.30AM in Bintan.
By the time I figured out why the sky was not getting any brighter by the minute, it was around 4.45AM.
Laughing, we decided to use the extra time to shower and freshen up anyway.
Good story for memories ;p
A quick one with the mum in December 🙂
Possibly the best day I had in our short time in Perth.
Cycling uphill proved to be more strenuous for my unfit body than I thought… but the beautiful salt lakes, blue skies, expansive coastal landscapes and very comfortable temperatures  certainly made the trip more worth it.
Stolen moments
When there is Beauty
Right in front
Yet
All we can think of
Is otherwise.
