Just Need a Space

I just need a space where I don’t feel watched.

Where I don’t feel the pressure of expectations and conformity.

Where I don’t feel the need to smile at every passing gaze, where I can let my facial muscles rest.

Where my sense can be at ease, not having to to prick up at the sound of approaching footsteps and be on the alert for social cues and gestures valued as part of professionalism.

It’s not even about being myself. It’s just about… existence at a basic and comfortable level.
