Mind-Made Barriers

When we really think about it, how many of our problems are really problems? How many of the barriers in our lives are really mind-made, easily altered by a change of perspective or perception, if we only make the effort to?

The housemate making a ruckus is nothing compared to people who have no roof over their heads.

The uncertainty of my future is minuscule compared to those who go to sleep wondering what are the odds of waking up in one piece the next morning, or if they get to wake up at all.

The distance I walk to the bus stop each morning is laughable compared to the distance some people in the world walk to get to a classroom, or even just to get drinking water.

And the list goes on.

Take a different view, step away, gain distance… And suddenly the Mind seems to be a greater barrier than the “problem” itself.
